We had a lovely visit with (daughter) Sara - on HER turf! She entertained us with dinner on the night of our arrival and showed us around the townhouse that she shares with Jessie (her fantastic roommate). Next day I went to the local Farmers Market with her - a very nice one in Vienna, VA. (Dad serviced her bike.)
We had a great little picnic at the Manassas National Battlefield Park.
Then we went for a lovely hike over the hills and through the woods. The fences all around the park were created during the 1930s by the CCC!
Sara took us to her church (Bull Run UU) in Manassas on Sunday. It was a lovely service. I am very impressed. It is roughly the size of the church we attended in Augusta - and equally as vital. Sara recently led the class (with the pastor, a young and dynamic woman) entitled “Building Your Own Theology”. She, also, was the narrator for “The Vagina Monologues” when the church presented that production. After church we went to lunch with Sara and 4 of her friends. There is a large young adult population in this church. HOW NICE!
Sara came to dinner at OUR home on Monday night (and made friends with “shy” Romeo).
